Our first international delegation hit the shores of Australia in February 2024 with a whirlwind four-day Immersion Tour across Tasmania. The tour shone a spotlight on farming seafood and seaweed in Tasmanian waters, in collaboration with Australian innovation, precision farming, sustainability, governance and sustainable supply chain leaders with visits to a selection of on-water and land-based sites as well asa seminar series to learn more about aspects of precision farming in action. Key takeaways for participants centred around transparency, scale and collaboration.
Here's what some of our delegates said:
Chris Rodley (SnapCore):
“So proud to have been able to travel on this delegation. The learning and relationships that have come from attending and being a part of Moananui have been significant. I highly recommend that if you are NZ based in the blue economy you seriously consider joining.”
Monique Hatful (NZ King Salmon):
"The value of Moananui was tangibly experienced on this trip. Moananui is here to inspire, to connect, toexplore, and to implement.Ultimately, everyone connected with Moananui wants to be part of the healthy growth of the blue economy sector in Te Tauihu andbeyond, and the hope that by working collectively we can get to our futurestate: Faster, Further & Fairer."
Gregor Jamieson (FutureLab Digital NZ & Code & Caviar)
"It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this delegation, and a proud life moment to be representing NZ with Moananui and such a talented group of individuals. To have the opportunity to visit world class on-water and land based sites and share insights and innovation with our wider trans-Tasman family in the Blue Economy CRC was a privilege and an honour!"
